Simon Fisher-Becker, known for his roles in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Doctor Who,” has died at the age of 63.

Fisher-Becker’s husband, Tony Dugdale, confirmed the British actor’s death in a Facebook post, without disclosing the cause of death.

“Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband. I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away. I’ll be keeping this account open for a while. I’m not sure at this point if I’ll be posting again. Thank you,” he wrote on Monday, March 10.

Fisher-Becker portrayed the ghost of the Hufflepuff house, The Fat Friar, in the Harry Potter franchise as well as Dorium Maldovar, the blue-skinned black marketeer, in the science fiction series “Doctor Who.”

The late actor also appeared in the 2012 adaptation of “Les Misérables,” “Gay Boys,” “Getting on” and “Puppy Love.”

Fisher-Becker’s agent, Kim Barry of Jaffrey Management, paid tribute to the actor by describing him as “kind and gracious.”

“I lost not only a client Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years standing,” he said in a statement sent to CNN. “He helped me out enormously and was always kind, gracious and interested in everyone.”

In 2023, Fisher-Becker spoke about his experience in the industry, saying he had been blessed having the chance to work with kind actors.

“Most of the actors I’ve gotten to work with, especially the bigger names, have been utterly delightful and very kind,” he said at the time. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the kindness of those people.”
