Julia Barretto is set to star in a new Kapamilya series in 2025.

“[The discussion for the project] happened in the middle of the year and the story is really nice,” the actress shared on how she got involved in the project in an interview with MJ Marfori.

On what she is looking forward to the most in the upcoming show, Julia relayed: “I’m excited to work with the entire cast and to work again with direk Dado (Lumibao) who I have worked with in the past. It’s a project that I’m really, really looking forward to in 2025.”

Julia said that they are already gearing up for the first day of shoot of the series.

With the many diverse acting projects she has done in the past, Julia was asked what other acting projects she would like to explore in her career.

Julia highlighted: “Nothing specific in mind. The universe has its way of really just opening up opportunities for you that you never thought you would do or would be willing to try and that’s what I love about it.

“I just love if you are just surprise with an opportunity and then you have this good instinct na I actually want to give this a shot. I might learn from it and that’s how it’s been this past year and hopefully next year as well.”

Looking back on the opportunities she received in 2024, Julia is just thankful.

“I am just so grateful for the year that it was and the year that it has been. Nag-shine talaga ‘yung grace ni God this year and I’m just really hoping for a very, very productive 2025,” she said. “I am just really overflowing with gratitude and so much excitement.”

This year, Julia starred in the Viu series Secret Ingredient alongside Korean actor Sang Heon Lee.

“I normally ask for the script when a project is pitched to me, but this one I immediately accepted. There were two things that excited me about it. One, I love to learn new things for a character I will be portraying. And two, this is the first time I am working with Viu,” she said on accepting the project in a past interview with PhilStar.

The actress also headlined the blockbuster film Un/Happy for You with Joshua Garcia.

She is also set to star in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Hold Me Close.
