“As this awards season comes to a close, I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey,” she posted on her Instagram page, calling the experience “the ride of a lifetime” and vowing that “we’re just getting started!”

The actress extended her appreciation to those who played a role in her journey, especially her team from The Substance.

“So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light. Thank you to the cast, crew, and fans of @trythesubstance — @isimostar and @coralie_fargeat it’s been such an honor to work alongside you, learn from you, and celebrate this film with you,” she said.

She also congratulated Mikey Madison, who won Best Actress at the Oscars for her performance in Anora. “A huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison — can’t wait to see what you do next ,” she wrote.

In addition to her Oscar nomination, Demi garnered multiple Best Actress accolades for her performance in The Substance. She took home the Best Actress award at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, and the Critics’ Choice Awards, and SAG Awards, among others, solidifying her as one of the season’s most celebrated performers.

“I’ll just leave you with one thing that I think this movie is imparting. In those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough or basically just not enough—I had a woman say to me, just know, you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick,” she said in her acceptance speech during the Golden Globes.

She went on: “So today I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me and for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong.”

The Substance follows the story of “a fading celebrity takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself,” as per its IMDb.

Demi played the role of Elisabeth Sparkle in the movie.
