Hsu and Koo registered their marriage in South Korea on Feb. 8, 2022, and in Taiwan on March 28 the same year.

On Feb. 6, Koo, 56, announced he would relinquish all inheritance rights to Hsu’s assets, transferring them to her mother. In another post, he took a swipe at Hsu’s ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, 44, saying some people were “pretending to mourn while walking in the rain.” South China Morning Post reported that Wang was seen walking in the rain in Taipei on Monday after flying in from Thailand upon learning of Hsu’s passing.

On Feb. 9, Hsu’s sister, Taiwanese TV host Dee Hsu, shared an Instagram Story featuring a photo of a bow hairpin, believed to have belonged to Hsu, The Straits Times reported. Dee Hsu is reported to take a six-month leave from TV show “Dee Girl’s Talk” to cope with her sister’s passing.

Hsu passed away in Japan on Feb. 2. Her family held a cremation ceremony in Tokyo before bringing her ashes back to Taiwan on Feb. 5.

Taiwan’s Next Apple News reported that family and friends gathered at Hsu’s home on Feb. 8 to mark the seventh day since her passing. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed the family had finalized arrangements for an eco-friendly burial in accordance with the late actress’s wishes.

For now, Hsu’s ashes remain at home until burial plans are finalized. However, a person claiming to be her neighbor has criticized the family for keeping the ashes in their apartment, calling it “selfish” and inconsiderate of other residents’ concerns.

Hsu gained fame through TV series such as “Meteor Garden”, “Mars”, and “Summer’s Desire”. Her personal life, particularly her marriages, had long drawn media attention.

She was married to Wang from 2011 until their divorce in 2021. They had two children together. After their split, Hsu reunited with her former boyfriend, South Korean musician DJ Koo, marrying him in February 2022. They remained together until her passing.

Wang later married Mandy in May 2024.
