Reports indicate that Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu and her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, entered into a prenuptial agreement to divide their assets prior to their marriage.

According to ETToday, as reported by Znews, the agreement was not legally notarized, leaving it open to invalidation and potentially allowing DJ Koo inheritance rights to Hsu’s assets. Hsu also transferred a mansion located on the grounds of an art museum to her mother.

DJ Koo had previously stated he would relinquish any inheritance rights to Hsu’s assets following her death at age 49 while on a family vacation in Japan, which was confirmed on Feb. 3.

However, a lawyer quoted by QQ mentioned that DJ Koo and their two children are the primary heirs after Hsu’s death. If DJ Koo renounces his share, the assets would be distributed equally among Hsu’s children, without passing to her mother. He could gift his share to his mother-in-law, but this might incur taxes, as reported by QQ.

Hsu is celebrated for her roles in hit series like “Meteor Garden,” “Mars,” and “Summer’s Desire.”

The relationship between Hsu and DJ Koo first caught the media’s attention in 1998 after they met during DJ Koo’s visit to Taiwan on a promotional tour and his appearance on “100% Entertainment,” hosted by Hsu and her younger sister Dee Hsu.
