Julia Montes is set to make her television comeback in a teleserye that is about to start shooting.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other media outlets, Julia expressed her excitement to be part of the series.

“It’s a big project, very happy ako, and very close to my heart itong project na ito so hopefully kapag pwede na po naming i-announce, ishe-share po namin,” she said.

On what made her say yes to doing the series, she replied: “Maraming factor po, bukod sa napakaganda po ng proyeto, pinangako ko po ‘yun kay sir Deo (Edrinal, former Dreamscape Head) so it’s really close to my heart.”

She added that the series is also full of lessons. “The story itself maraming ita-tackle na hindi natin madalas nata-tackle so medyo meron siyang lesson sa bawat isa, so iyon ‘yung gusto kong maging part. Hindi lang siya basta-basta na teleserye or series so ‘yun po ang dapat nilang abangan,” she remarked.

The actress relayed that the production team also waited for her availability before filming commenced.

“Supposedly last year pa ito dapat isho-shoot pero talagang inintay po nila ako so talagang kailangang gawin namin ang proyektong ito and for [sir Deo],” she stated.

Julia recently starred in her comeback film Five Breakups and a Romance alongside Alden Richards.

The actress bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in the movie at the 7th EDDYS on Sunday, July 8.

“Wala po akong masabi kung hindi maraming, maraming salamat. Kung alam niyo lang po, ako bilang nagtatrabaho sa ating industriya, manominado pa lang po ay napakasarap na sa pakiramdam,” she remarked in her acceptance speech.

The actress added: “Ito pong binigay nyong parangal ngayon, sobra, sobrang nakaka-inspire pa na lalong pagbutihan.”

Julia also expressed her gratitude to Deo in her speech, highlighting that the late Kapamilya executive was one of the first people who believed in her as an actress.

“Hindi ko makakalimutan si Sir Deo sa Lahat ng roles na ibinigay sa akin. First adult roles na serious roles siya ang nag-motivate sa akin. Siya ang unang naniwala sa akin,” she stated.
