An alleged neighbor of late actress Barbie Hsu has criticized her family for keeping her ashes in their apartment, calling it selfish and inconsiderate of other residents’ concerns.

The user argued that if the family truly respected Hsu, they should inter her ashes on their own estate rather than in a shared apartment building.

“To seek respect, one must first show respect! The deceased deserves peace. If you live in a private villa, you can store multiple ashes without concern, but please do not compromise the quality of life for the apartment residents due to your selfishness,” they wrote.

When another user questioned their claim of being a neighbor, they insisted it was true, as reported by Dimsum Daily.

The criticism surfaced as Hsu’s younger sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed that the family had finalized arrangements for an eco-friendly burial, fulfilling the late actress’s wishes.

For now, Hsu’s ashes remain at home. Once the burial site and date are confirmed, the family will proceed with the ceremony.

Hsu passed away in Japan on Feb. 2. Her family held a cremation ceremony in Tokyo before bringing her ashes back to Taiwan on Feb. 5.

On Saturday, her husband, South Korean DJ Koo, posted on social media: “I will love you forever.” The day marked the third anniversary of their marriage registration in South Korea.

Hsu gained fame through TV series such as Meteor Garden, Mars, and Summer’s Desire. Her personal life, particularly her marriages, had long drawn media attention.

She was married to Wang from 2011 until their divorce in 2021. They had two children together. After their split, Hsu reunited with her former boyfriend, South Korean musician DJ Koo, marrying him in February 2022. They remained together until her passing.

Wang later married Mandy in May 2024.
