Fashion PULIS: Insta Scoop: Kylie Padilla on Being a Single Mom

On her Instagram account, the celebrity mom revealed that it hasn’t been the easiest journey for her as she tries her best to become both the mother and father to her children, Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo.

Kylie shares her two sons with her ex-husband, Aljur Abrenica.

In her post, the Kapuso actress shared that “single motherhood is the hardest.” She wrote how nearly impossible it is and almost feels like failing the role of becoming a mother.

“You’re mom and dad. Both nurturer and disciplinarian. But above all the protector. Even against your worst kind of self. Absolutely exhausted but must be always be available to regulate their emotions for them,” she wrote.

“Even when you don’t know how to regulate your own. Single motherhood is damn near impossible. When you are plagued with depression and anxiety or when you are filled with self doubt and you feel completely isolated and alone and like you’re failing your role as a mother,” she added.

Kylie maintained that she can’t do anything but present herself to her children in the best way she can despite all the emotions she’s feeling inside of her. She hoped that one day her children would understand the things she does for them as they are growing up.

“Mom guilt is the absolute worst because missing out is the worst. All you can do is make the small moments count let them know at every moment you can. That you love them and pray to God one day they will grow to understand you did your absolute best even at your worst,” she shared.

“Being a single mom means trying to make everyone else look good while you settle to become annoying and repetitive and taking in that pain of knowing that you needed to be tough. Praying to God they would someday understand mama was crying too when you were throwing that tantrum. Mama was praying for you to grow tough and strong. Mama was praying for you all along,” she maintained.

The Kapuso actress maintained that her children’s love for her is what keeps her going as she toughens it out to become their mother.

“Mama can’t wait for the day when she tells you the truth that it wasn’t mama that was the superhero. It was the complete opposite. That it was their love that kept saving her. It was them that was mama’s super hero,” she ended.
