Marian Rivera and content creator-entrepreneur Anna Magkawas both stressed the importance of thorough research and due diligence when choosing aesthetic clinics for beauty treatments.

This topic arose during Marian’s contract renewal as the ambassador for Luxe Skin’s Ecran De Luxe Silicone Sunscreen Gel, a product under Anna’s company.

At the event, they were asked to comment on the recent incident involving Jelica Dastas, known as Jelly Macha on TikTok, who developed an eye infection after a reportedly mismanaged glutathione drip session.

Anna emphasized the importance of conducting thorough research and ensuring that the procedures are FDA-approved.

She said, “IV po atayong nakapag-cause nung ano, and baka maybe it’s not FDA approved.

“Ang alam ko, talagang ipinagbawal dito sa atin ang injectables sa mga Glutathione.

“So, yes, may oral supplements na puwede i-take na pang-alternate, pero let’s check lang din po muna.

“Una-una siyempre if it’s FDA approved, recommended ba iyan?

“Kasi ngayon talaga, sobrang dami, sobrang dami pong mga nag-offer na mga ganyan sa iba-ibang mga aesthetic clinics.”

Her advice was simple: choose wisely.

Turning to Marian, Anne playfully asked her, “Nagpapaturok ka ba?”

Consistent with her previous statements, Marian reiterated her hesitance when it comes to injectable beauty treatments.

“Turok? Hindi muna ako open sa ganyan, hindi muna,” she said.

Marian added, “I mean, okay ako with the machines and everything, pero yung ganun, medyo takot ako sa ganyan pa.

“Pero hindi ko kino-close ang sarili ko diyan kasi malay mo, after 60 years old mo kailangan mo pala, why not?”

Marian reiterated her strong support for individuals pursuing their beauty aspirations, while also emphasizing, like Anna, the importance of conducting thorough research and staying informed when selecting a trusted expert or clinic.

She said, “Kaya sinasabi ko palagi, hindi ako kumokontra sa mga kababaihan o kalalakihan na gustong maging kumpiyansa sa mga sarili nila kaya gusto nila gawin yun.

“Pero yun lang, kailangan talaga is piliin nating mabuti kung sinong pagkakatiwalaan natin.”

Marian playfully added, “So alam niyo na? Mag-Avignon kayo.”

Marian conveyed her gratitude to Anna for renewing their partnership for another year.

She said, “Ang maganda kasi kay Ms. A… alam natin na siya yung may-ari nitong Luxe Skin.

“At the end of the day, boss ko siya. Pero siya yung tipong boss na alam mo na hindi ipaparamdam na boss [siya].

“At every time na may gagawin ka for the product, sobrang thankful at naa-appreciate niya yun. Sobrang down to earth.

“Ito yung mga masarap makatrabaho na nagiging pamilya mo.

“Dahil yung pagmamahal niya is not just because ambassador ka, endorser ka. Kumbaga nandun yung parang personal love niya sa iyo.”
