Her younger sister, Xu Xi Di (Little S), is currently handling the funeral arrangements with the family. She announced that there would be no formal funeral service; instead, they would choose an auspicious day for tree burial, where her ashes would be placed under a tree as a form of commemoration.

February 8, which coincided with Big S’s first-week memorial, also marked the third anniversary of her marriage to DJ Koo. Big S’s family bought a cake and invited close friends to their home for remembrance. Familiar faces from the entertainment industry, such as producer Qiu Li Kuan, Aya Liu, and Makiyo, were present to bid farewell to their late friend.

On the same day, DJ Koo posted “Forever Love You” and tagged Barbie Hsu’s Instagram account. His post was accompanied by a touching piece of music, moving many to tears.

According to Sanlih News, Makiyo stayed at Barbie Hsu’s house for about two hours. She emotionally shared that Little S had visibly lost weight: “She is deeply heartbroken but is trying to stay strong as we remember her sister. We ate fruit, drank champagne, and talked about Big S. I tried to hold back my tears to respect her wishes, but the atmosphere was still filled with sorrow. This loss is truly immense for their family.”

When asked whether Little S had any specific wishes to fulfill Big S’s last requests, Makiyo choked up and replied, “She understands Big S better than anyone and will surely choose the best way to honor her sister’s wishes.”

Additionally, many fans expressed concern over the absence of Big S’s long-time close friend, Fan Xiao Xuan. When asked about this, Makiyo stated that only Little S could give a precise answer.

Throughout the past few days, Little S has remained silent on social media, except for refuting a few false rumors. However, at midnight on February 9, she unexpectedly updated her Instagram story with a picture of a pearl-embellished hair clip and ribbon, believed to be one of Big S’s keepsakes. She did not leave any caption. The image quickly spread across platforms like Threads and Weibo, evoking deep emotions among netizens.

Fans could not hide their feelings, leaving comments such as: “This is heartbreaking; I hope she can overcome this loss,” “Is this Big S’s accessory?”, “This hair clip is exactly Big S’s princess style,” and “I just hope Xiao S takes care of her health.”

The gathering on February 8 happened on Big S’s first-week memorial, but according to close sources, the family did not treat it as a funeral. Instead, it was simply an occasion for close friends to come together and commemorate the late artist on her third wedding anniversary.

While Big S’s family remained discreet in handling the posthumous matters, actions taken by her ex-husband Wang Xiao Fei and former mother-in-law Zhang Lan sparked much controversy.

On February 8, Douyin (China’s TikTok) announced the suspension of Zhang Lan and Wang Xiao Fei’s accounts, along with a blogger spreading false rumors. Weibo also temporarily disabled Zhang Lan’s livestreaming function, effectively cutting off her primary source of income.

Amidst public backlash, Zhang Lan spoke to the media, asserting that she was not exploiting the incident for attention: “We have fulfilled our moral obligations.”

After losing access to Douyin and Weibo, Zhang Lan turned to the international version of TikTok in an attempt to resume her livestream sales business.

According to TikTok’s policies, an account only needs 1,000 followers to unlock the livestream feature. Zhang Lan’s newly created TikTok account quickly gained attention and sparked heated discussions among netizens.
