Jamela Villanueva talks of role of Maris Racal in breakup with Anthony Jennings.
Anthony Jennings‘ ex-girlfriend, Jamela Villanueva, says she wants to clear her name amid the growing chatter around her split with the Kapamilya actor.
Two days after Anthony confirmed his split from his partner of seven years, Jamela drops a series of Instagram stories on December 3, 2024, detailing the last three months of their relationship.
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
Jamela begins by saying that her moves are all toward achieving peace and healing for herself.
After this, she shares screenshots of what she claims are Anthony’s exchanges with fellow Star Magic artist Maris Racal,
Jamela writes: “I’ve been trying to hold myself together through everything that’s been happening. But after hearing all the things being said about me—about my character, my intentions, and even my family—I can’t stay silent any longer.
“It’s been deeply painful, and I know it’s no longer just about me. It’s about protecting the people l love most, and I can’t allow them to be dragged into this.
“I’m not here to relive the past or cause more pain. I just need to share my truth.”
Going on, she says: “There’s only so much silence a person can bear when rumors twist the truth. I’m sharing this because I need to set the record straight—not to create more drama, but because I deserve to be heard, just like anyone else.
“This has been a journey of pain, growth, self-discovery, and healing.”
She admits that speaking up has not always been the option she would take.
“No one truly knows what happens behind closed doors,” she writes, “but I’ve learned the hard way that speaking up isn’t weakness—it’s strength, and I’ve learned that choosing peace sometimes means reclaiming your voice.
“I’m choosing to let go of the weight of these rumors. I’m choosing peace for myself and my family, and I hope you can respect that too. To those who have stood by me and continued to support me, I am forever grateful.
“I hope this helps you understand where I’m coming from.”
In a subsequent story, she adds: “I’m grateful that Anthony finally chose to speak the truth because I had been carrying the weight of it all on my own for so long.
“It’s painful to be attacked by others when all l ever wanted was to protect my personal life—and to protect him out of respect.
“When Maris came into the picture, I was genuinely happy for you both. I even chose to be supportive, despite the red flags I couldn’t ignore. I respected your craft. I believed in you both. But betrayal like this cuts deep.
“This is my truth, and sharing it is my way of moving forward—not with anger, but with strength, hope, and the belief that better days are ahead.”
JAMELA villanueva’S GROWING SUSPICIONS
Jamela reveals that her suspicions began with conversations between, she claims, Anthony and Maris on June 28, 2024, the night before the launch of a food chain endorsed by the two stars.
By Jamela’s account, the MaThon loveteam was already billeted in the same hotel when Maris sent Anthony a message allegedly saying, “Di pa ako inaantok.”
Anthony was supposed to have asked, “Gusto mo pa ba?,” to which Maris’s reply was supposed to have been, “Sa next life na.”
Jamela also alleges that Maris asked Anthony to delete screenshots of her conversation with Anthony.
Jamela follows this with her own screenshots showing Anthony reassuring her, as his girlfriend, that despite the demands on him of his work, he remains committed to her.
She says Anthony actually assured her that his interactions with Maris have been no more than, she quotes him saying, “method acting.”
The post captures Anthony saying to Jamela: “mahal kita/tapos kailangan ko gawin to/parang naka pako sa pader/masakit siyempre/miss ko buhay ko eh/pero wala di gagana to pag di ko gagawin to.”
To which she concludes: “I fully supported him because I believed in him and trusted him at that time.”
Posting additional screenshots of what Jamela says are calls and Facetime video logs between Maris and Anthony, she notes that the logs prove their communications were frequent.
“During those times, I just let it be,” Jamela asserts, “because nagtitiwala ako sa kanila.
“Anthony would always tell me that he needed to do it and [he needed to] respond to her because they had work the next day.
“He didn’t want their work to be affected, especially since his partner was dealing with some personal issues. He took it as his responsibility, believing that by comforting her, he could help her work through her problems.”
A next collage of screenshots, again allegedly between Anthony and Maris, is also uploaded by Jamela on IG Stories.
Here she claims that, in one message, Maris wrote, “You look so tired I wanna baby u,” to which she also claims Anthony responded, “Oki hehe I love you sorry na kiss nalang kita mamaya.”
To which Maris supposedly replied, “Not ready for I love yous [angry emojis].”
JAMELA VILLANUEVA UNLOADS MORE VISUALS AND TEXTS
In a separate screenshot that Jamela posts in July 18, she claims that Maris sent Anthony this text: “that was so hot.”
She writes on IG Stories by way of explanation (published as is): “Context: yung ‘that was so hot’ nag party sila niyan, I confronted Anthony about it and he told me na hinila daw siya sa CR ng girl and they started making out. I asked him why did he let her, he just said ‘ayoko lang maramdaman niya na parang ayaw ko siya kasi may trabaho kami bukas’ he said sorry and said ititigil niya na and naging okay kami.”
The following day, July 19, Maris is supposed to have said, claims Jamela: “smoke then f*ck.”
The text came after a picture, to which Anthony then responded, according to Jamela, with: “yes/ yes please”.

Jamela alleges that from July to September 2024, with the latter period coinciding with a lock-in taping for the two stars, Anthony and Maris have a series of exchanges that finally prods Jamela to confront Anthony about their own relationship.
The supposed exchange between Anthony and Maris goes—

Anthony: hahahaha tlga ba? okay ba yon?
Maris: yeah sexy
Anthony: it was/goodnight Maris/pahinga ka/bukas sabihan kita pag tuloy
Maris: okay (smiley emoji)/ goodnight anthony. wish this night was longer
Anthony: sana nga maris/bitin
Maris: haha/well/lets not force it/perfect timing will come/Haha
Anthony: yeah yeah gets ko
Maris: and mas magiging perfect yun
Anthony: mas masaya nga/exactly
Maris: but i like being held by you/sarap/but ill touch myself lang/haha
Anthony: hahahah i pahinga mo na yan
Jamela also captures a picture of Maris in bed.
JAMELA CONFRONTS ANTHONY ABOUT GOING TO MARIS’S HOUSE
Jamela shows a screenshot of her own conversation with Anthony of August 15, when she expected him to come home straight from a taping day with Maris.
She says Anthony told her he couldn’t make it to a meetup for massage with an unnamed companion because he was too exhausted and wanted to sleep.
She finds out, she adds, that Anthony went to Maris’s house that night.
There is proof, Jamela says. And she posts a screenshot of what she claims is a conversation between Anthony and Maris following that visit.
Maris supposedly sent a photo of herself in bed, below which a text says: “you forgot your sweater… kanina ko pa yakap”.
Anthony is said to have responded: “bingo mode ka na naman/pag miss ng dogs ung amo nila or someone/niyayakap nila ung mga clothes.”
As retort Maris supposedly said: “ugh yung amoy ng sweater mo/im sad na nauubos ko na yung amoy na naiwan mo sa sweater mo”.
Maris also tells Anthony, says Jamela, that she’s glad he finally came to her house. To which Anthony allegedly replies, “oo nga eh pupunta ulit ako.”
Jamela says she confronted Anthony about this. He was dismissive and merely explained, Jamela writes: “nag karaoke lang daw sila in her house.”
Then came the shoot of Incognito, Anthony and Maris’s upcoming TV series, for which Anthony and Maris flew to Italy the second week of September.
According to Jamela’s IG Stories (published as is): “Okay naman kami nung Italy cus nag ccall and update padin siya.
“Before he came back from Italy may moment panga na nag iyakan kami sa video call bc we were trying to figure out what was really going on, and I told him that I’d been sick for two weeks.
“We’re both really overwhelmed with stress but binigyan niya kong assurance na aayusin namin pag uwi niya.”

Jamela reveals that things finally took a different turn at the time of Maris’s birthday on September 22, a day before Anthony’s return to the Philippines.
She references Maris’s Instagram Story showing a photo of Anthony while the two stars were in the plane. He was holding a mini birthday cake for her.
Maris thanked Anthony for cheering her up with a cake because she was “feeling the blues.”
This post of Maris was picked up by online entertainment news sites.
Jamela relates how the photos from Maris’s birthday stories “shattered my heart into pieces.”
Jamela also posts photos of Anthony and Maris who appear to be getting cozy, their faces close to each other, also in the plane.
Proceeding with her tale, Jamie writes (published as is): “This is the other side of the story — the photos that she posted in her story, where people started attacking me, saying that the photo was just ‘fan service’ and that I was overreacting.
“l even asked Anthony about it, and he brushed it off, saying it was nothing.
“But after her story went viral, people suddenly remembered na ah meron nga palang girlfriend si Anthony.
“That’s when everything started to spiral, but I still tried to give them the benefit of the doubt at that time thinking na okay sige lets give it to the fans kasi harmless naman yung story niya that time.”
Jamela explains that Anthony arrived in Manila September 23, and that she was staying in his condo unit at the time.
There, she admits to checking Anthony’s phone, and this is when she saw his exchange of messages with Maris.
Elaborating, she says: “I did have my suspicions na which nagatungan pa when I saw her birthday post.
“I checked his phone while he was sleeping and saw the night they separated at the airport, they had texted each other saying how much they would miss each other.
“Sakin pa umuwi nun si Anthony from Italy trip :))”
Jamela goes on to say that by September 26, Anthony asked her to put her social media accounts on private mode, saying this would deter netizens from speculating about their relationship status.
This was possibly an offshoot of the headlines in various entertainment sites following Jamela’s cryptic social media posts referring to betrayal, jealousy, and gaslighting.
This had fueled talk among netizens that Anthony and Jamela had broken up, and it did not help that Maris’s birthday post was getting traction from MaThon fans.
Jamela said she would not put her account on private, saying, “nahh love, that would make me look stupid.”
She then asks Anthony if this ask came from Maris.
To which Anthony said: “love hindi mo naiintindihan eh/stop na kami basta keep mo nalang yan kasi naka private ka naman dati eh.”
Despite Anthony’s promise to cut ties, Jamela says contact between him and Maris went on.
As proof, Jamela shows in her IG Stories screenshots of Anthony and Maris’s supposed messages of September 28.
In one message allegedly from Maris, a message accompanied with her picture, Maris is supposed to have said: “U miss my body? …I want baby kisses/parang tinatry mo ako ubusin.”
In another, accompanied with a picture of Maris and Anthony in a train in Italy, Maris is supposed to have said: “naiimagine ko nag rroadtrip tayo.”
The screenshot also reveals that the two stars phoned each other. Anthony: “binababan mo ko”. Maris: “Ha ikaw yung bumaba ng call”. Anthony: “ikaw”. Maris: “I said i wanna talk to you.” Anthony: “okay”.
Jamela also shows screenshots of her separate conversation with Anthony where she confronts him about why he keeps entertaining Maris outside work.
THE BREAKUP
Entering October 2024, Jamela ends things with Anthony.
She writes on her IG Stories (published as is): “I ended things with him as peacefully as I can, but I was hurt and devastated hence the TikTok reposts.
“People saw it and nakarating din sakanya yun, and that day na nag viral yung issue about the reposts he keeps messaging me things like this.”
She also uploads Anthony’s plea to her of October 1: “ako nalang sirain mo love/mag usap nga tayo/sinabi nya na sakin/di na sya lalapit sakin/and i promise you wala na din tinapos ko na/so/please/kung ano man yan/itigil mo na yan”.
Jamela’s PARTING MESSAGE TO ANTHONY
To close this chapter of her life, Jamela dedicates a letter to her ex, whom she privately calls “Michael.”
Jamela’s letter reads in full (published as is):
“Michael,
“For nearly 7 years I’m so grateful for you being my rock, my best friend, and most especially my partner.
“The memories we’ve shared over those years are the ones I will always treasure and remember. I know I’ve loved you enough to make you feel that way, and I could never think of anyone who would make me feel the way you do. You’re my first in so many things, and I’m glad I got to experience them with you.
“I know we’ve had our ups and downs, but I also know how much you’ve taught me through it all. Thank you for being there for me through the hardest times in life. You’ve brought a life into mine that I never thought I could have, and for that, I’ll always be grateful.
“Happiness was all I ever wanted for you, in our years of living together. I never imagined I’d have to let you go, but i did—so you could grow and find happiness on your own.”
JAMELA’S ADVICE TO FELLOW WOMEN
In a separate post, Jamela leaves a note addressed to women who find themselves in the same situation.
It reads: “To all the women reading this, don’t be like me. It took me three long months to finally accept that I was just ignoring the reality of the situation.
“The sleepless nights, crying and anxiety attacks and sabotaging yourself—for those three months, I blamed myself for everything I thought, felt, and saw during that time.
“I convinced myself I was just overthinking and overreacting because I desperately wanted to see the good in the situation.
“I allowed this to happen because I thought it was the best way to support them both. Most importantly, I trusted my partner and her—as a woman.
“This isn’t easy-especially when he texts me. I catch myself wanting to reply, wishing things could just go back to how they were.
“But I’m grateful for the people who’ve found strength in my story, and whose hearts I’ve touched.
“They remind me that sharing my truth isn’t just about my own healing-it’s about empowering others to find the courage to embrace theirs.
“So if you ever find yourself in the same shoes as me, I hope you can gather the strength to put yourself first and protect your peace.”
At press time, Anthony and Maris have yet to speak up about Jamela’s posts.
