Gabbi Garcia was surprised when Ruru Madrid’s “Kalokalike” on “It’s Showtime” mentioned her name on the show.

According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Tuesday, the noontime show’s contestant was asked to name an actress Ruru and his girlfriend, Bianca Umali, had previously fought about.

Bianca, who served as one of the segment’s guest hurados on that day, was also startled and couldn’t stop laughing after the contestant answered “Gabbi.”

“Nakakaloka lang si Kalokalike,” Gabbi said.

“Alam mo, feeling ko si Gabby Concepcion talaga ‘to. Parang hindi ako ‘to. Pero well, kidding aside, I’m happy for both Bianca and Ruru naman talaga, and it’s nice to see them happy din together,” she said.

Gabbi and Ruru were together when they were 15 and 16 years old.

They are set to reunite and reprise their roles as Alena and Ybrahim on “Sang’gre.”

“Naglolokohan nga kami na grabe, after eight years, isipin mo naging Alena at Ybrahim/Ybarro ulit siya at ako. So nakaka-throwback lang. Nakakatuwa,” Gabbi said.

Ruru is likewise delighted to be working again with Gabbi, who is now in a relationship with Khalil Ramos.

“Matagal na panahon na ‘yon at nakakatuwa. I mean, kaming dalawa ni Gab, the last time na nakasama ko siya sa taping ng ‘Sang’gre,’ nagcatch-up kami, nagkwentuhan kami, so you know, ang sarap lang sa puso na parang nagre-reunion lahat,” Ruru said.

“I am very happy rin for her na she’s doing her own thing na ‘yun talagang pinapangarap niya before, ngayon ginagawa niya na, and

I think kitang-kita ko naman din ‘yung happiness niya with Khalil, matagal na rin sila. We’re very happy para po sa kanilang dalawa,” he said.
