Jhong Hilario Achieves Academic Milestone: Earns Master’s Degree with Highest Honors

“It’s Showtime” host and actor Jhong Hilario has proven once again that determination and perseverance lead to success. On August 29, 2024, Jhong proudly received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from World Citi College, achieving the prestigious “Highest Merits” distinction. The graduation ceremony took place at the PICC Plenary Hall in Pasay City, marking another significant achievement in his multifaceted career.

Despite his busy schedule as a television host, actor, and councilor, Jhong remained dedicated to his academic journey. In an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News, he shared the challenges he faced while pursuing his master’s degree.

“I took one year. It’s a modular program. Ipapadala sa iyo yung mga modules, and then you have to research the books that you’ll read. ‘Yung iba, kung saan-saan pa namin hinanap iyung mga libro. Yung mga sacrifices, yung minsan bising-busy, and siyempre hindi naman biro ang masteral din,” Jhong recalled.

Balancing multiple responsibilities was no easy feat, but his dedication never wavered. He remained focused, believing that education is an invaluable asset, especially in preparing for future opportunities beyond the entertainment industry.

Education as a Long-Term Investment

Jhong’s decision to pursue further studies was driven by the understanding that a career in showbiz is not permanent.

“Hanggang kailan ba ko sa pag-aartista? Maganda na rin siguro na may bala ka,” he explained. “Hindi ka habang-buhay artista. If ever na may opportunity na maibigay sa akin bilang public servant, at least naka-ready ka.”

Although his academic achievement fueled speculation about his political ambitions, Jhong clarified that he is not eyeing a higher government position in the upcoming elections.

“I’m just ready lang, if ever na kailangan ako sa ganito o sa ganyan,” he added.

Jhong celebrated this remarkable milestone with his loved ones. His mother, Nanay Nelly, his partner, Maia Azores, and their daughter, Sarina, joined him at the graduation ceremony. Maia shared heartwarming photos and videos on Sarina’s Instagram account, capturing the joyous occasion.
