Isa si Maxene Magalona sa mga mental health advocates na naging bahagi ng “Magpasikat” performance ng team nina Jhong Hilario, Jackie Gonzaga, Cianne Dominguez sa It’s Showtime last October 25, 2024.

Pagkatapos ng show, nag-post si Maxene sa kanyang Instagram account ng larawan kasama ang mga kapwa niya mental health advocates.

Lahat sila ay nakasuot ng green na scarf—na international symbol para sa mental health awareness.

Nilagyan ni Maxene ng caption ang kanyang post na, published as is: “Not everyone is brave enough to speak up about their mental health.

“I feel proud and honored to have shared the stage on @itsshowtimena with these amazing mental health advocates.”

Nagpasalamat din siya sa team nina Jhong.

Dagdag niya sa kanyang caption, “Thank you so much to @jhonghilario, Jackie, Cianne and the rest of their team for giving such a powerful and moving performance about mental health awareness.

“Thank you for inviting us to be part of your presentation so that we can show the people who are struggling with their mental health that they are not alone.

 

“MAGPASIKAT” TOP WINNER ANG TEAM NINA OGIE, KIM, LASSY AT MC

Naging second placer ang team nina Jhong, Jhong, Jackie, at Cianne, na nagbahagi ng kuwento tungkol sa kanilang pinagdaraanang mental health challenges.

Ang nanalo ngayong taon ay ang team nina Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, Lassy Marquez, at MC Muah Calaquian.

Nasungkit nila ang PHP300,000 na premyo, na iniabot nila sa Angat Buhay Foundation.

Inilabas ng It’s Showtime ang resulta nitong October 26.

Ang mga naging hurado ngayong taon ay sina Gabbi Garcia, Donny Pangilinan, Alice Dixson, and former president of ABS-CBN Freddie “FMG” Garcia.

 

MAXENE VOCAL SA KANYANG MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES

Very vocal si Maxene sa kanyang pinagdaraanang mental health issues.

Ibinabahagi niya ang kanyang healing journey sa Instagram.

Sa IG post niya noong October 10, 2021 niya unang ibinahagi ang kanyang kondisyon.

Aniya, “It’s been a couple of years now since my psychiatrist diagnosed me with the mental health condition Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which explains why I’ve always had difficulty managing my emotions as this is one of its symptoms.

“Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to express my feelings so I really didn’t know how to handle them.

“As a result, I turned to alcohol and partying for years just to numb myself.”

 

Nakatulong umano sa kanya ang yoga at meditation para maharap niya ang kanyang inner struggles at ma-suppress ang kanyang emotion na matagal na niyang dala-dala sa loob ng maraming taon.

Lahad niya, “My therapist advised me to connect to my sadness through meditation so that I can finally release the stored pain.

“It is through this practice that I learned how to truly love and take care of myself from the inside out.”
