“Yung pulis na nasaktan at nagkaroon ng injury sa ulo po ay magpa-file po ng kaso…Direct assault po,” PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said at a press conference.

(The police officer who was hurt and had a head injury will file a case…direct assault.)

Fajardo said Avanceña supposedly hit a policewoman with a cellphone. The cop sustained a lump on her forehead.

According to Fajardo, the injured police officer was assisting in clearing the way to Duterte who was about to be arrested.

“Ang may nasaktan po ay doon sa side ng PNP. Meron po tayong mga videos na magpapatunay na pinukpok po ni Ms. Honeylet yung isang pulis po natin na babae,” Fajardo said.

(The one who was injured was on the PNP side. We have videos that prove that Ms. Honeylet hit one of our female police officers.)

“Napakalaki po ng bukol ng pulis natin. Dinala po yun sa ospital (Our police officer’s injury was very big. She was taken to the hospital),” she added.

GMA News Online has sought comment from Avanceña through Duterte’s former chief presidential legal counsel Atty. Salvador Panelo but they have yet to provide a statement as of posting time.

Meanwhile, during a discussion with Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Police Major General Nicolas Torre III said he had also experienced ”harassment” from Avanceña, adding that Veronica ”Kitty” Duterte also cursed at him.

Torre also said the former president threatened him that his children will get back at him even before he retires from police service.

”Physical po ay itinulak ako ni Honeylet, tinabig niya ako at malakas ang pagkatabig niya noong nagkasalubong kami sa hallway; nasa video naman minura ako ng kaniyang anak; at mismong si Presidente Duterte ay ni-remind niya ako magre-retire ako at aasuntuhin ako ng kaniyang mga anak at ng kaniyang mga kamag-anak after my retirement, even before my retirement – tinrethen [threaten] niya ako but everything is okay lang iyan,” Torre said.

(Honeylet pushed me when we were in the hallway; it’s also in the video that their daughter cursed at me; And no other than President Duterte reminded me that when I retire, his children will get back at me, even before my retirement. He threatened me. But for me, it’s okay.)

On Tuesday morning, authorities served a warrant of arrest from the ICC against Duterte for crimes against humanity in connection with his drug war.

The plane carrying Duterte departed the Philippines on Tuesday evening heading to The Hague in the Netherlands.
