The mother of standup comedian Gold Dagal took to Facebook to express her heartbreak over her son’s death.

Gold was shot in Pampanga, and according to his mother, he died nine hours later.

She also said that a “hired killer,” who shot Gold in the face was the one who ended her son’s life.

She highlighted how Gold would be very frank in his commentaries, and that her son has allegedly been receiving death threats following a show where he roasted an entity.

“March 15, 2025, the Ides of March

Someone shot my only son in the face which caused his death 9 hrs later.

Doctors tried to revive him each time he would have cardiac arrest, which happened more than 10x.

My son is gone. A hired killer ended his life and made sure he does not survive. Why this happened? I know those he offended with his jokes during one of his stints in his stand-up comedy shows, had planned to end his life like how they constantly threatened.

They are a bunch of cowards who cannot defend themselves and their faith which was put in question thru his dark humor.

His jokes involved making light of subjects that are generally considered serious, taboo, or distressing, which served various psychological and social functions.

He got the ire of these “unthinkers” with one of his private performances. It was supposed to be for matured and smart audiences who paid to be entertained.

He conceptualized Roast Battle which he said will eventually teach Pinoys who are “pikon” to thicken their hide. He said he wanted an avenue that would allow people to explore uncomfortable topics in a safe environment.

I have always reminded him that engaging in such dark humor can alienate or offend others. But some people who claim to be closest to God planned and perpertrated this crime. They killed my son, whom I raised to be good and smart and who is always handsome.

Such a short life but made meaningful because it was lived selflessly. He was consistent with his care and love for me and his three sisters. He was always the respectful and considerate child. He was always honest and funny- my parents’ first grandchild, everyone’s kuya, my favorite human being.

I will miss you, my anak. Rest in peace now with Papa. I will see you again my baby boy.”

Meanwhile, in news back home, Sen. Imee Marcos released an official statement concerning the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

She is calling for a probe on the arrest and would want to establish whether due process was followed in his arrest. The senator also said that she is inviting key officials and agencies including officials from the PNP, OTS-DOTr and a lot more.

The senator said that such critical concerns regarding the country’s jurisdiction and the policies concerning law enforcement agencies must be addressed.
