Amid reports that her ex-fiancé, PBA player Scottie Thompson, allegedly got married to another woman recently, influencer Pau Fajardo broke her silence and spoke up about the issue via social media on Thursday, June 24.
On her Instagram page, Pau admitted that she initially did not feel the need to release a statement about the matter since she is not a public figure.
“It has been a difficult time for my personal life. With this statement, I hope we can finally put a stop to all the gossip, and for me to finally reclaim my private life. Even when things regarding my relationship started to unravel publicly, I never felt I needed to release any statement. After all, I never regarded myself as some sort of a public figure, much less a celebrity,” she said.
Pau remarked that she decided to keep quiet not because she was “insensitive or indifferent but because the issue is very much a personal matter.”
She continued, “That said, I am deeply hurt. I ended a long-term relationship with the man I was ready to spend the rest of my life with. To say it has been heartbreaking is an understatement.”
Despite it all, Pau remarked that she is “making the conscious decision to move forward with my life.”
Pau also apologized if there were people who were dragged into the issue. She stressed that it was never her intention to hurt or harm anyone.
“Please understand that I have no control over what people are sharing on social media on this issue,” she said.
She also urged those who genuinely care for her to “refrain from doing things that would further inflame the situation.”
Pau also extended her gratitude to those who have become her support system.
“To the people closest to me, ‘thank you’ is not good enough. To my faithful friends, thank you for staying by my side. And to my family and especially, my Ate, I miss all of you more now than ever. Do not worry, I will be better,” she stated.
She said that this will be the last time that she will be commenting about the issue.
Pau and Scottie set the online world abuzz recently after reports claimed that the basketball player got married to another person. Scottie has yet to confirm the alleged wedding.
Pau and Scottie got engaged on New Year’s Eve prior to the issue.
