Piolo Pascual and son Iñigo maintain a tight father-and-son relationship by communicating every day and spending quality time whenever they can.

As a father, Piolo Pascual wants his only son Iñigo, 19, to make his own choices and learn from his experiences.

But when asked what’s his number one bilin to Iñigo about ladies, laughing, Piolo told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “‘Wag magpapaasa.”

He continued, “Just be truthful, just be sincere, honest.”

PEP caught up with the singer/actor during his grand fans’ day and launch as the newest ambassador of Tide Perfume Fantasy last July 4, 2017, at the Century City Mall in Makati City.

He also believes that Inigo is old enough to make the right choices.

But, what if he make mistakes?

The 40-year-old Kapamilya artist recalled telling Iñigo, “Kung ano man ang mangyari sa iyo, panindigan mo ‘yan, panagutan mo ‘yan, ayun lang.

“Hindi na siya bata, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Kung anuman yung gagawin mo sa buhay mo, you just have to make sure that you are responsible enough to face it and face it like a man.’”

Despite their respective busy careers, the celebrity dad commended the efforts of his son to make time for their bonding activities.

“Kahit gaano ka-busy iyan, he makes sure that he gets to spend time with me whenever he can.”

He added, “[We] call each other every day, we check up on each other every day.”

The advantage of being in the same business is that the set sometimes becomes their meeting place.

“And if he has time, he visits me sometimes kasi every day din ako nagtatrabaho, he comes to the set and stays overnight with me.

“And pag wala akong trabaho, I come and visit him naman.

“Especially sa ASAP naman magkasama kami every Sunday, and that’s a bonus already.”

One proof of their closeness was this photo that Iñigo uploaded on his Instagram account last July 28, 2016, few days after their kissing video went viral.

Iñigo captioned, “Haters stay hatin. Thanks for everything pa! Missed you!”

He also used the hashtag “di namin problema kung may problema kayo sa picture na to.”

Piolo reposted it and wrote, “Love you son.”
