MANILA – Aga Muhlach on Saturday took to social media to pay tribute to his aunt, veteran actress Amalia Fuentes, who passed away due to multiple organ failure Saturday morning.

Muhlach on Instagram said he was “at a loss for words” over the death of his “second mom,” whose real name was Amalia Muhlach.

He also said Fuentes was “at peace and reunited with ate Liezl (Martinez),” Fuentes’ daughter who succumbed to breast cancer in 2015.

“You started it all for us. You have taught me so much in life. You were an inspiration. You treated me like your son. I’m at a loss for words. Go rest now. I know for sure that you are the happiest right now for you are at peace and most specially, reunited with ate Liezl,” he said.

The actor reminisced the times he spent with his late aunt while growing up.

“My growing up years was spent with you, tita. All my weekends, summer vacations, our trips to Baguio, in tali, in the states. Lahat na,” Muhlach said.

Fuentes had been “paralyzed” and “bedridden for the past 4 years” following a heart attack, Aga’s cousin Niño told radio DZMM Saturday morning. Fuentes was brought to hospital a few days ago.

The late actress rose to fame after winning “Mr. and Ms. Number One,” a nationwide talent search launched by Sampaguita Pictures in 1956.
