LOS ANGELES — Amid their continuing celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) brought some of the Philippines’ biggest stars to Los Angeles to attend the Manila International Film Festival as well as take part in a special free concert for the Filipino community entitled “Konsyerto Para Sa Filipino” held in Cerritos, California last Saturday.

To kick off the day, an exclusive fan meet-and-greet was held for fans of KimPau as Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino took in questions and got up close and personal with select lucky fans from Southern California as they promoted their upcoming film “My Love Will Make You Disappear,” which is set to screen in the Philippines on March 26 and in many countries outside the Philippines.

Chiu and Avelino also announced a special screening with meet-and-greet and Q&A that they will be in attendance on March 28, 29 and 30 at Cinemark in Carson, California.

At the “Konsyerto Para Sa Filipino”: in the evening, some of the country’s biggest stars, graced the stage to greet their fans in attendance and thank them for their support of their films that were part of the MMFF.

The fans were all entertained by some of the best singers of the Philippines led by Jed Madela, Jaya, Joey Albert and special dance performances from Junior New System.

The show was presented to the Philippine community for free by the MMDA and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos’ CineGang, as the First Lady along with other government officials were also in attendance.

The night ended with Chiu and Avelino making another appearance on stage and gave the fans a special preview of the new director’s cut trailer of their movie.
