Hindi totoong buntis ang TV host, actress, at singer na si Karylle.

Ito ang nilinaw ng It’s Showtime host makaraang lumabas ang haka-hakang siya ay buntis na sa unang anak nila ng asawang si Yael Yuzon.

Sa latest episode ng podcast ni Karylle na K’s Drama noong February 7, 2025, tuluyan nang nagsalita si Karylle para klaruhin sa publiko na hindi siya nagdadalantao.

Noong August 2024, unang kumalat ang balitang buntis si Karylle dahil sa madalas nitong pagliban sa Kapamilya noontime show na It’s Showtime.

Nasundan ito noong January 2025 nang kumalat online ang video ni Karylle sa isang event.

Naintriga ang netizens sa nasabing video dahil sa inilagay na caption ng uploader na, “Karylle, buntis na ba?” dahil umano sa baby bump na makikita sa aktres.

Karylle addresses latest pregnancy rumors

Para tuldukan ang mga espekulasyon, minarapat ni Karylle na magsalita sa pamamagitan ng kanyang podcast.

Hindi na raw kasi niya maatim na maraming tao ang naniniwala sa mga maling balita at impormasyong nakikita online.

Palala na raw nang palala ang fake news tungkol sa kanya, sa puntong may mga nakakasalubong siyang tao na kino-congratulate siya dahil akala ng mga ito ay totoong buntis siya.

“So I’m here to tell you that [no, I’m not].

“I have been stopped on the street and congratulated for being pregnant, and I have to explain, of course, that I’m not pregnant.

“This is the third time that this news has circulated so I knew categorically denial would be useless because you want to believe what you want to believe, and maybe you have a good feeling about congratulating me.”

Diin pa niya, “I think it’s not about education level; a lot of people have been fooled by this news. So I’m here to tell you once again that the news is fake.

“I hate fake news.”

Bagamat walang masamang epekto sa kanyang showbiz career, gusto raw malaman ni Karylle kung paano ito maiiwasan.

Sa kanyang podcast ay inimbitahan ni Karylle si former BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) commissioner Atty. Kim Henares para maipaliwanag sa kanya kung paano i-handle nang tama ang fake news.

Ani Karylle, “How do we stop this kind of problem from happening, from circulating?

“Especially because it doesn’t seem like bad news. It’s not something that destroys my character.

“You don’t feel like a chismosa or a chismoso person by clicking or congratulating me on the comments section. So, what’s wrong with it?”

KARYLLE’s STRANGE SITUATION

Sa pagkakatanda raw ni Karylle ay tatlong beses na siyang natsismis na nagdadalantao kaya naman ayaw na niyang maulit pa ito at pumang-apat.

Pagsasangguni niya kay Atty. Henares: “I don’t know how to feel about asking for help, but I feel I’m in a very strange situation wherein the fake news is not bad news.

“I didn’t do anything bad, people feel like they did not anything bad because when you congratulate somebody about having a child, it’s not bad.

“So what is it that I can do to stop this from happening a fourth time, because this is the third time that this has happened to me?”

Sagot sa kanya ni Atty. Henares, “Actually, if you look at our law, you have to prove damages to yourself.

“But if you say it’s not damaging, that’s a problem. There’s a fake news that don’t really damage anyone but they’re just not factual.”

Sa pagkakataong ito ay inisa-isa na ni Karylle ang mga posibleng maging damages sa kanya dahil sa fake news tungkol sa kanya diumano’y pagbubuntis.

Pahayag niya: “I guess the damage would be to my mental health.

“Two, my having to explain to everyone and now nobody believes me.

“So I saw somebody on street in Singapore. And as we were waiting for the pedestrian to be green and to walk, she congratulated me with all the love in the world.

“It was hard to say that it’s not true. And when I explained it wasn’t true, she didn’t believe me na. Parang hindi na ako kapani-paniwala.

“I have lost control of my own voice, of my own narrative.”

Paliwanag ni Atty. Henaras, walang maikakaso si Karylle sa mga nagpapakalat ng maling balita tungkol sa kanya umanong pagdadalantao.

Ang tangi lang daw niyang magagawa ay ipakita sa mga ito na walang katotohanan ang mga intriga.

Sabi ni Atty. Henaras, “Legally, there’s really nothing you can do.

“The only thing you can really do is to say what you’re saying now and refuting all this fake news.

“I think the thing here is, maybe to attack the fake news, you could come up in the same format in TikTok, and do a frame by frame—when they had the rumor, then a picture of you in nine months time, twelve months, or two years, showing that you’re not pregnant.”

KARYLLE AND YAEL ON STILL NOT having a child

March 2014 nang ikasal si Karylle sa Sponge Cola vocalist na si Yael, ngunit hanggang ngayon ay wala pa silang anak.

Sa isang panayam ni Karylle noong 2018, sinabi niyang desisyon nila ni Yael na hindi muna magkaanak.

Saad niya: “Actually, a lot of women would advice not to have kids right away. I have… that was really the plan.

“Yeah, because… hard to explain, but, yeah.”

Naitanong din kay Karylle kung nakakaramdam ba siya ng pressure gayong ang ina niyang si Zsa Zsa Padilla ay bukas na sabihin sa publiko na gusto na nitong magkaapo kay Karylle.

Sagot noon ni Karylle: “I know a lot of women nowadays are very vocal about how pressured they feel during family reunions, when it comes to Christmas, but I think…

“In the same breath, a lot of women have become more supportive of each other, especially pag same age mo, peers mo, kasi alam mo same issues kayo.

“So, I think it’s kind of, like… It’s like more… you have your support group, kasi everyone’s going through the same thing.”

Kuwento pa ni Karylle: “The other day, I was talking to somebody, parang similar age, similar issues, you know.

“It was just so good to have a woman to talk to and parang… can you believe life now?

“Parang… but, ‘Oh, my God, it’s nice to have somebody who can understand!’

“So, you kinda give a hug and parang, now, you just suddenly turn to other woman for support.

“So, it’s just kind of nice.”
