The King of K-pop G-DRAGON is back with Übermensch!
Released on Tuesday, February 25 via Galaxy Corporation and EMPIRE, the new album marks the rapper’s first solo release in 12 years, complete with eight new tracks.
“‘Übermensch’ means ‘Beyond-Man,’ representing an individual who transcends themselves. This album embodies the idea of presenting a stronger and more resilient version of oneself to the public. I hope this strength resonates with my fans through my music,” he said in a press release.
G-DRAGON also dropped the music videos for two new songs —“DRAMA” and “TOO BAD” — featuring Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak. The album also includes previously released singles “PO₩ER” and “HOME SWEET HOME,” with the latter featuring fellow BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung.
G-DRAGON will be kicking off his world tour in Seoul in March — the two shows will be his first solo performances in eight years, following the Act III: M.O.T.T.E World Tour in 2017. Globally, he is also set to perform at the Head in the Clouds Festival in Los Angeles in May, and at the Singapore Grand Prix in October with co-headliner Elton John.
Other tracks on Übermensch include “DRAMA,” “IBELONGIIU,” “TAKE ME,” “보나마나 (BONAMANA),” and “GYRO DROP.”
G-DRAGON — whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong — is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer who debuted in 2006 as the leader of BIGBANG, one of K-pop’s most influential groups.
