Unfortunately, this Christmas, Richard and the Gutierrez family flew to Japan “minus one,” as the action star’s mom Annabelle Rama put it.

With the couple’s marriage reportedly on the rocks, Sarah did not join the trip.

Switzerland

Switzerland, dubbed as the “Land of Milk Chocolate and Mountains” and home country of Sarah, was her cherished retreat with Richard.

The majority of their family photographs showcased the municipality of Zermatt, a mountain resort renowned for activities such as skiing, climbing, and hiking, aligning with the couple’s active lifestyle.

Zermatt’s summit offers breathtaking panoramas of the famous Swiss Alps mountain Matterhorn, along with the glaciers surrounding it, and the Monte-Rosa massif.

Notably, Zermatt is a special place for the couple, it being the site where Richard asked for Sarah’s hand in marriage in July 2017.

Flaunting the huge diamond ring, Sarah shared the joyous moment with the caption: “The stars aligned in the universe and this happened. I’m marrying my best friend.”

An interesting tidbit: The couple’s widely circulated viral photo on a yacht by a lake was also captured in Switzerland.

UNITED KINGDOM

Being parents juggling work and raising two active kids—Zion, 10, and Kai, 5—Richard and Sarah have less date nights, let alone a couple vacation.

Which was why in November 2022, Richard resolved to focus his attention on Sarah during their trip to London.

He wrote about this trip, “Finally some alone time with you in a beautiful city we’ve never been to before…

“as busy parents, we’ve promised ourselves to always make alone time for each other, either through taking trips, exploring new places or just going on date nights to continuously rediscover each other.

“we figured out that getting lost together is as important as growing together. keep the flame burning.”

They strolled the busy city streets, feasted their eyes on contemporary art pieces at Tate Britain, dined at the modern European restaurant Sketch, and visited the Southwark bridge.

INDONESIA

Confirmed thalassophiles or beach lovers, Richard and Sarah frequent the enchanting waters of Bali, Indonesia.

They were there to celebrate Richard’s 36th birthday on January 21, 2020, and had breathtaking moments at the Villa Indrani—one of the famed beach villas at Canggu resort village.

Sarah penned in her birthday greeting, “no one makes me laugh like you do [heart emoji] happiest birthday to the love of my life… best dada, best friends. best love. you know the rest…”

The couple’s latest trip to the westernmost part of Indonesia’s Lesser Sunda Islands, was during the wedding celebration of Maja Salvador and Rambo Nunez in July this year.

Billeted at the five-star luxury beachfront hotel, Apurva Kempinski Bali, they found themselves atop the scenic Nusa Dua cliffs overlooking the azure Indian Ocean.

TURKEY

Every first time holds a special place in Sarah’s heart, making Turkey one for the books in her travel repertoire.

She conveyed, “true to pleasure for me is dressing up, being a lil extra and having fun being a tourist in Turkey.”

Richard had been to this Middle Eastern country before, but this particular outing with Sarah was for him one of their “most unforgettable trips so far.”

He attributed this sentiment to the abundance of “new flavors, historic backdrops” prevalent in the region.

Along with a video montage of them immersing in the rich heritage and culture of Turkey, he expressed, “Magical sunrise with my love overlooking Istanbul.”

If that wasn’t enough, they capped off this trip cruising on the Bosphorous Strait—an internationally significant waterway located in Istanbul in northwestern Turkey that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, where east meets west.

FRANCE

Frequent visits to the Eiffel Tower over the years have shaped Richard and Sarah into natural romantics against the backdrop of this monumental site.

From 2017 to 2019, the couple added a distinct touch by filtering their Parisian sojourns with grayscale tones, infusing a particularly enigmatic vibe into their photos.

Their Parisian escapades also included visits to other famous city landmarks such as the Louvre Museum and The Arc de Triomphe.

JAPAN

Richard and Sarah welcomed Year 2023 as a family in Japan.

Visiting “The Happiest Place On Earth” through Tokyo Disneyland, the couple and their kids Zion and Kai got to play and explore the various rides of the theme park.

To complete the tour, they stopped by the Mediterranean Harbor themed alley, home to Venetian gondolas that serve as the gateway to Tokyo DisneySea.

Subsequently, in February 2023, the quartet engaged in skiing and snowboarding at Niseko, Japan’s preeminent skiing resort in Hokkaido.

Renowned for its abundant light powder snow and stunning backcountry, Niseko provided the backdrop for this family adventure.
