Barbie Hsu leaves behind impressive NT$924 million property portfolio following her passing

3rd February 2025 – (Taipei) Barbie Hsu, the Taiwanese actress has reportedly passed away at the age of 48 while travelling in Japan due to complications from influenza and pneumonia. Her family has confirmed the devastating news, which has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industries of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.

During her life, Hsu demonstrated impressive investment skills, owning multiple properties in the Xinyi District of Taipei, with a current estimated value of around NT$562 million.

She held three luxury residences in Taiwan, all located in the prestigious Xinyi District. Among these was a property purchased in 2009 for about NT$200 million (approximately HK$47.04 million). This property featured a serene environment with only 33 units in the entire complex. In 2011, she acquired another luxury home which she later sold in 2020 for NT$247 million.

In 2016, Hsu bought a penthouse unit in Taipei’s Xinyi area, currently valued at NT$362 million (approximately HK$85.14 million). This property was originally purchased by her ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, but registered under her name for convenience, as he is not a Taiwanese national. The combined estimated market value of her properties, stands at approximately NT$924 million (around HK$218 million).

In recent years, Hsu had made few public appearances. Her passing comes amidst ongoing disputes regarding her estate with her ex-husband, raising immediate concerns about inheritance distribution and child custody. The public is eager to know whether her two children will remain with their father or her current husband, DJ Koo. Discussions regarding her final arrangements and farewell ceremony are still in progress among family members.
