Saad ng actress-beauty queen: “Ang daming offers sa akin through the years na talagang sumali.

“I think even during the pandemic, pinapasali nila ako sa kung anu-anong mga beauty pageant.

“But, honestly, I’ve been there, done that.”

RUFFA AS MENTOR TO ASPIRING BEAUTY QUEENS

Nais daw ni Ruffa tulungan na lamang ang mga kabataang babae na nangangarap maging beauty queen.

“I would love to mentor those that are starting in the industry.

“Those that want to be a beauty queen, I am here for them, if they ask me for advice, in the same way na Miss Melanie Marquez was there for me during my time, same with Tita Gloria Diaz.

“So, kung may beauty queens na aspiring to be international queens, nandito lang ako para tulungan sila and to mentor them as well.”

RUFFA ON REACHING THE AGE OF 50

Bukod sa pagsasalita nang tapos na hindi na siya lalahok sa mga beauty pageant, ikinuwento ni Ruffa ang mga naranasan nang tumuntong siya sa edad na 50 noong Hunyo 24, 2024.

Hindi raw ito naging madali para sa kanya.

“I am embracing it in full force kasi prior to be turning fifty, I was really anxious. Sabi ko, ‘Oh my God!’

“Alam mo, parang three months akong umiiyak. Nagpa-flashback lahat ng mga nangyari sa buhay ko na how I wish I was twenty again.

“Ganoon pala, ano? I don’t know for the other ladies out there that are the same age, parang nagpa-flashback yung youth ko.

“So when I turned fifty, sabi ko, ‘You know what, I should just embrace it kasi it’s a blessing to be still alive, to be still healthy, to still have work at my age.’

“That’s why in the beginning of the year, I started working out and I started moving, exercising, and I prioritized my health.

“Always naman talaga na pina-prioritize ko yung self-love and self-care.

“Pero ngayon talaga, mas dumoble pa yung effort, yung conscious effort ko.”

Dahil “Golden Girl” na siya, mas naging maalaga si Ruffa sa sarili.

Pagbabahagi niya: “Now that I am 50 years old, hindi na ako nagsisinungaling, puwede ninyo naman i-Google.

“Hindi na ako puwedeng magsinungaling, ‘Hi, I’m 25 years old.’ Hindi na puwede.

“Now that I’m 50 years old, I really make it intentional to take care of my health, wellness, well-being.

“And now that it’s Women’s Month, I just wanna share to all of you, sa lahat ng mga kababaihan na kailangan talaga nating alagaan ang mga sarili natin.

“Take care of what we eat, count our calories, mag-gym tayo, mag-exercise tayo, kahit na tamad paminsan-minsan. Kailangan gumalaw-galaw yung mga katawan natin.

“Hindi na puwede ang shortcuts when it comes to health, wellness and beauty.”
