Coney Reyes breaks her silence on the longstanding feud with Dina Bonnevie: “Let’s move on from the past!”

Coney Reyes responded in a brief but meaningful manner when asked by the press, including pikapika.ph, about Dina Bonnevie’s recent kind words during the press conference of Anak ni Waray Vs. Anak ni Biday, concerning their past conflict in the 1980s.

Recall that Dina had praised Coney, particularly for the way she raised her son, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, and for deepening her own faith in God.

“Well, that’s nice,” Coney replied during a pocket interview for her new Kapuso teleserye Love of My Life. “Let’s not dig up the past, which was almost 30 years ago. People have moved on, they’ve settled with their families, so let’s just leave it as it is.”

Coney also mentioned that she wasn’t the only one who helped Dina grow closer to her faith.

“Thank you, but usually, it’s not just one person who helps us. There are many who help us,” said the veteran actress. “But thank you [to Dina]. I wish her well. She’s always been kind to Vico, so there’s no problem.”

When asked about how their friendship has endured despite the past, Coney chose to reiterate her message once again: let the past be.

“As I said, let’s not dig up the past. That’s enough,” she emphasized. “Aren’t you happy for all of us? I’m happy for them, for her, and for everyone being happy. Let’s just stay silent and be happy.”

Coney’s new show, Love of My Life, starring Carla Abellana, Rhian Ramos, Mikael Daez, and Tom Rodriguez, premieres on GMA-7 this Monday, February 3!
